  • Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative

    The Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative is partnership of many individuals and organizations working together to prepare Western U.P. students to become knowledgeable citizens engaged in activities that enhance their school, community, and the Lake Superior watershed.

    The MiSTEM Network – which unites education, business and community partners across the state – is creating pathways for all students to consider and pursue high-wage, high-demand careers.

  • Keweenaw Land Trust

    The Keweenaw Land Trust (KLT) is a community partner protecting land, water, and quality of life through conservation, stewardship and education. KLT applies effective strategies to protect and restore natural areas, watersheds, heritage lands, traditional farms, forests and family lands that enhance our quality of life and foster personal connections to the Keweenaw for generations to come.

  • Houghton County Office of Emergency Measures

    The Houghton County Office of Emergency Measures (OEM) is responsible for coordinating response and relief activities in the face of man-made or natural disasters, thereby protecting the lives of the people and their property.

  • Michigan Sea Grant

    Michigan Sea Grant is a cooperative program of the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We fund research, education, and outreach projects designed to foster science-based decisions about the use and conservation of Great Lakes resources.
